Clare & Dan's Dovecliff wedding
I'm Steph, a Birmingham wedding photographer with a fun wedding photography style. Enjoy today's blog.
Wow, has anyone else's summer flown by? I have been sooooooo busy with weddings and its been blummin' amazing! I will apologise to my friends, being a busy photographer means being a crap friend!
One of the first weddings kicking off my super busy summer was Clare & Dan's wedding back in July at Dovecliff Hall.
I met Clare last year at Dovecliff Hall wedding fair. We both share quite a dry sense of humour and not very romantic partners, we clicked straight away. Dovecliff Hall is a fab Derbyshire wedding venue, an awesome building with beautiful gardens and set amongst the gorgeous Derbyshire countryside.
We met up earlier this year for their engagement shoot at Dovecliff Hall. This was a great way for Clare and Dan to get to know me and how it feels to be photographed by moi! Dan was worried and really dreaded the thought of being photographed. I have to say, I think he did very well! there were moments were he was able to completely let go and be himself. I knew they were going to be fine on their wedding day.
The last photo is one of my faves. Dan had the random idea of stroking a bee... yep, you read that correctly! haha
Clare & Dan's wedding day soon came upon us after their engagement shoot.
Clare and her girls were so calm and had such a laugh getting ready the morning of the wedding. Many conversations I could never repeat, those girls can be wild! haha
The ceremony was short and sweet and the bride and groom were so relaxed. There was a moment where Clare was giggling at Dan during the ceremony from a little wording mishap, but I think a giggle always makes for awesome photos.
Unfortunately this weekend was one of our stormy days, but luckily we had some sunny patches for everyone to chill outside. Trust me, the rain did not stop this bride and groom.
Clare arranged a surprise for some Alpacas to come visit everyone. The rain didn't stop us from seeing the gorgeous alpacas! This was such a fantastic idea and made for amazing photos! Anyone who knows me, know how much I love animals, so a wedding with animals made my heart happy!
Clare created some of the best centrepieces and favours I've seen. The tables were named after their animals, their chickens & gerbils! Yes and even included the cutest photos! The favours were small succulents for everyone, how cute is that?!?
Clare is also the DIY queen and made a photo booth station outside, creating an amazing rustic wooden frame and props. As drinks were flowing, the photos got funnier and funnier!
As evening came upon us, the band set up and it was time to dance the night away. Having a band really does create such a great atmosphere and they know how to get the crowd up on the dance floor! Dance floor photos are some of my favourites, I really get to show my couples my fun wedding photography style.
