Whatton House Wedding - Andrew & Laura’s festival wedding

Bride and groom walking through colourful pom pom confetti at Whatton House Leicestershire

Wow! What a wedding!

Andrew & Laura’s Wedfest at Whatton House was the most colourful and fun wedding you’ll cast your eyes on! I love it when my couples put all their personality into their wedding day!

Colourful pom pom confetti; Glastonbury decor styling; smoke grenades; games; plenty of food and drinks flowing and a glitter bar! If you’re planning a festival wedding, this is one to inspire you!

How to rock the festival bride look

Laura looked absolutely gorgeous on her wedding day at Whatton House.

She wore the most gorgeous two piece, contemporary dress from Pretty White Dress in Altrincham. The dress was modern with a geometric lace pattern, with a touch of glam added in the sequins.

We all know I love colour and flowers, but when the two come together it’s a Steph dream! Laura’s flowers from Bunch Of Blooms was the cherry on the cake for Laura’s festival vibe. Paired with a fun flower crown, Laura is the definition of the festival bride!

Whatton House Tipi

The ultimate festival wedding has got to be in a tipi! Whatton House tipi was the ultimate tipi wedding venue! Set in a large field surrounded by woodland, you really do feel like you’re a VIP at a festival!

With a decking in front of the tipi perfect for benches and tables for your guests to relax in the sun with their beer or cider. It’s also practical for those not wearing a comfy festival shoe and going the wedding guest stiletto that always get’s stuck in grass!

Styling your wedfest

I love it when my couples throw so much of their personality into their wedding styling! Andrew & Laura absolutely love going to festivals and you can see this through every aspect of their wedding day.

Curious Magpie did an amazing job styling the tipi at Whatton House. Colourful streamers, Glastonbury flags as table setting and even outside with the banners! Wedding stylists are such a great investment on your wedding day. Not only do they make it look epic on your wedding day, they really do make my job so much easier and your photos turn out amazing!

The Melbourne Cake Company’s cake really was the cherry on top! How epic does the cake look?! It was such an art pieces, I felt bad Andrew & Laura were going to cut it!

How to have fun with smoke grenades!

Smoke grenades are still very much on trend and I am here for it! Smoke grenades not only add a pop of colour to your photos, they’re so much fun! Whatton House allowed us to use one of the fields for some super fun group photos that of course, included the smoke grenades. Smoke grenades can be dangerous kids, so make sure you read up how to use them safely! But when they turn out good (which is most of the time), they’re so much fun! So next time you’re thinking of fun group shots with your bridal party, think of running around a field with your mates and smoke grenades!

Having fun with your couple portraits

As you all know by now, I am not your super romantic or awkward posing wedding photographer. I love to capture you being you in my relaxed photography style. I’ll throw in some opportunities to get you two laughing until you nearly wet yourself (fine line of getting that right) to capture the joy of your wedding day. Andrew & Laura were absolute superstars. Wanting to keep things relaxed, we spilt the couple portraits over the afternoon and evening. Doing it this way means you’re not being dragged away from the party too long! Whatton House has some awesome locations around the grounds, you’re really spoilt for choice!

It’s time to party!

Is there anything more festival than having your first dance under a giant disco ball in a tipi?! nope.

Andrew & Laura had a live band to get everyone onto the dance floor and rock out! As the evening approached us and the dance floor filled with glittery faced guests, Andrew and Laura really let their hair down. Laura’s converse were on and she was dancing the night away. The perfect way to end this festival wedding!
