Got a

question

for me?

ask away!

Choosing your wedding photographer is a big decision and one you should never regret. Understandably you have questions and I’m glad you do! As you can imagine, I get asked these a lot and i’d rather spend the time on our zoom meeting getting to know each other. So I have finally put this page together. Here you will find the answer to every question you can possibly imagine asking me. So have a read of this page before our meeting or before you enquire to make sure you’re happy with me.

Are you insured?

Yep. I have public liability and indemnity insurance with Hiscox. It’s renewed every year so I know i’m always covered.

Do you have back up cameras?

Indeed I do. Never really understood why I get asked this, usually from drunk uncles haha. In my bag I have 2 Sony A7iii’s and a back up Canon 6d markkii. So if anything goes wrong with one camera, I’ve always got a backup!

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes I do. I have a pretty awesome 80’s playlist that I always put on in the car to get me even more pumped for your big day. With a full day package, 100 miles travel (from B23 or CH42) is included. If your wedding venue takes my travel over 100 miles, then additional travel costs will be added to your invoice at 45p a mile. If your wedding is over 2 hours travel from B23 or CH42 or in London, I will require overnight accommodation the night before your wedding. Don’t worry, a Travel Lodge will do me! This is something I can source and add onto your invoice or you can book for me.

How many photos do I get?

This depends on what you have planned for your wedding day. If you’re having a small wedding of 20 with no entertainment or things planned for you and your guests, your gallery will be on the smaller side. If you have fun stuff for you and your guests to do, doesn’t have to be mega expensive entertainment, it can be games, this will result in more for me to photograph. So think about what will create amazing photos on your day.

Can we ask for different editing?

This is a big nope. Sorry folks, I have spent years perfecting my skills and finding my style. I’d like to think you have seen my instagram, have requested my brochure and seen some fuller galleries and are happy with my style. I mainly have a documentary style of photography and have medium edit style. I don’t edit really light and airy, nor am I dark and moody. I love colour but not bright in your face. I don’t pose your all renaissance style romance nor will I be getting a flash out in the pouring rain. If you are wanting romantic or traditional, then i’m not the gal for you.

When will my gallery be ready?

I send out sneak peaks for you within 48 hours of your wedding. Sometimes this will be in a downloadable gallery or as a blog post. I usually deliver your gallery within 8 weeks after your wedding. As you can imagine, summer is so busy so this can sometimes it will take longer. If there are any delays to your gallery I will keep you updated. I do ask for you to please not ask every week when your gallery will be delivered. I totally understand you’re excited, but I edit wedding in order I have shot them, so your wedding might be in the list.

Do I need to pay a retainer fee?

To secure your date in my diary, I do ask for a retainer fee. For a full day package, your retainer fee will be £250. If you have booked by the hour, I ask for 20%. This fee is non refundable if you chose to cancel your contract with me.

Do I own the photos?

As the photographer, the copyright of the images taken will always remain with me. You will be given a print release, this means you can print, share online, share with friends and family… basically everything you will want to do with your photos. You are not allowed to edit my images, this does include instagram filters. I know we all love a filter, but most of my couples have found me through social media, so seeing photos I have taken but with some sepia filter is not a true representation of my work. I like to think from everything you’ve seen, you like my editing style anyway! Another no no is giving the images to third party companies. If any other suppliers, businesses or blogs would like to use the images, you will need to send them to me and I will grant permission for usage.

What happens if you cannot make it on the wedding day?

Over the years of me being in the wedding industry, I have built some strong friendships with other photographers. If myself or an immediate family member are seriously ill, I will need to send an associate out to your wedding. If I cannot find an associate, you will get a full refund minus work already completed. If something happens to me on route to your wedding, I have set up an emergency contact section in my contract, so please make sure you have access to this on your wedding day just encase.

Will you share photos from my wedding on your social media?

Yes. I love showing all my couples and potential couples my latest weddings and lets face it, instagram is the place to be seen! No doubt it’s probably where you found me! If there are people who cannot be seen online, just let me know and I will make sure they are not shared online.

How much are you?

I get asked this SO MUCH! I understand couples get excited when they find a photographer they like. You see my instagram and ping me a message, that’s great. My packages and prices are on my website under PACKAGES. There’s no hidden costs, I’m an honest Butt!

Do you offer discount?

Nope. I am constantly told to actually up my prices because of my expertise, years of experience, knowledge and skills. You’re already getting a bargain! If you have a smaller budget to stick to, I offer an hourly coverage which is perfect.

Do we have to feed you?

I don’t have it in my contract that you have to feed me. I do get very happy when my couples say ‘don’t worry Steph, we’re feeding you a yummy hot meal’. As you can imagine, weddings are long days, sometimes i’m out the house for 16 hours. This means I can’t risk eating a 12 hour sweaty car sandwich. Having a proper meal on the day gives me that boost of energy to carry on smashing your wedding photography. You can ask your wedding venue if they supply a meal to your photographer, a lot of venues do. Don’t worry though, I can pop out and grab some food, we will just make sure the timings are 100% accurate so I don’t miss anything!

Hopefully this has answered any questions you might have been thinking to ask me. If you haven’t already filled in my form and booked a zoom chat, then click HERE and lets have a natter about you and your amazing wedding!
